few questions about refreshrates

r_displayrefresh with TFT, should I leave it as 0 or should I lock it to what I have on my tft(75)?

com_maxfps - on CRT, should I limit it to 76 or 85(hz rate)? and what about TFT? I can feel the difference between 125 fps and 75 fps ingame with TFT, so I guess that should be 125, someone knows more about this?

afaik tft doesn't care about r_displayrefresh (I might be wrong though)

if u have same refresh rate and fps u will experience tearing.. so I wouldn't recommend same value for both (same goes for crt and tft)
I used highest refresh rate possible on my crt

and fps 125

Now on LCD , so refresh rate is 60 :)
"I used highest refresh rate possible on my crt" - that's pretty obvious, but I want to get more detailed answers about the stuff I wrote.

Second one is CRT right ?

I dont think it matters on TFT and LCD ...

Well i can only have 60 on LCD so ...

EDIT: And i dont think you need to 'sync' your fps with rate , because i can play with 43 and 76 easily on 60 refreshrate

on a tft put displayrefresh to 75
on a crt put displayrefresh = fps (75/76 83/85, 100/100, 125/120)

Incase you have 125fps and TFT, I recommend keeping it at 125fps as it will feel a lot smoother although the TFT wont display all frames. High fps will give you better reaction times etc and plays a bit smoother on a tft. For tracking having the same fps = displayrefresh is better... too bad most ppl have a TFT these days :)

The only good solution is playing 125fps/120hz on a crt :) Keeping the same settings over a long period of time is the key to improving.
How about LCD ?

same shit as tft

does r_displayrefresh do any difference on TFT?
Parent
Read his first post lol
Parent
I did, im now talking about the cvar, not about the actual refresrate.
Parent
It does the same as changing it in your driver
Parent
yeah I got answer for that already, it was just more like explanation to you instead if "lol read my post again and think why I wrote it"

By default they run 60hz. Use r_displayrefresh 75 to raise the speed a little. You could use the windows settings too but they can fuck up when changing resolution.
Parent
Hmm , ok to bad i only can choose 60 and my max fps is 76

Most of the time stuck at 43 tho :/
Parent
you can put most tft's to 75, have you tried using the ET cmd?
€: no real point since you play with such a low fps :)
Parent
Et cmd is set to 100:P No errors in game or sth ..

long timy no spamy loekiny
As far as I'm aware, refresh rates on a TFT only really matter if you're playing at a decently high FPS (125 or above I would say). Even then, it's hard to notice with a TFT but still, there is improvement. I run my TFT at 75 constantly now (The default as with most TFT's I've had is 60) so I don't bother changing any games settings.

Doesn't 120 Hz on a CRT make people's eyes bleed? D:
nope, the more HZ on CRT the better it is... I have had 120Hz for 2 years now and my eyes aren't bleeding :P

but 60Hz on CRT I can't stand even 5 mins without getting headache
Parent
The higher the refreshrate on CRT the better for your eyes is what ppl always told me

For LCD it doesnt matter :)
