like in "folders", you can change the view of them, whether to have big icons, small icons, a list, a list with info etc.. how can I achieve the same in desktop without external programs?
example: http://dec.pp.fi/p/theme/decemdesk1.jpg (some very old theme I used to have, used external program for that desktop listing)
so I'd like to do it without external programs running while using windows, maybe some regediting or programs that enable it?
p.s. tried googling for it but either im doing it wrong or it's not working, but I tried this: http://www.windowsitpro.com/Article/ArticleID/15075/15075.html - anyway I believe it would (in case it works) affect only the icon size, the items would still take lots of space on desktop.

you'll need some external programs running to get such a desktop
maybe this program?
cant help then (my bad.. beer..)
was a program though, but you could just turn it off after logging in to your computer and it would remain the same
