horror movies [fin allowed!]

which movies would u recommend as "scary" / creepy movies, preferably something not older than 20 years. from newest movies I can think of some "horror" movies that aint really scary but they get the element with violence such as saw or dawn of the dead et cetera. so any suggestions of movies that really make you scared? I remember ring being boring.

I completely disliked that movie. Comparing to part 1, which atleast had some sort of a story line, part 2 sucked soooo much :/

edit: ah no, open water is sth different but also very boring. there's another movie similar to that and most of the time there's only one person ... alone in the sea (or first alone on a island trying to escape) but forgot the name, I guess this is the worst movie ever.
