compression of the uncompressed

Hi
i made an avi out of a demo, with virtual dub.
Now i need a way to compress the uncompressed avi. I dont want to follow the hannes tutorial, because iam too lazy, and i dont need highquali mp4 or smth.
I dont need the codec name only i also need a explanation how to do that.

after vdub to vegas, in vegas you make it uncompressed or hyfuuv or smth like this , after vegas to meGUI and then voila .MP4

i dont want mp4.
i just want an easy way to compress that avi file, cause iam too lazy to do all the steps to get to a mp4.

dunno , wmv file @vegas or smth , i always do with meGUI ;<

noez, no i need to install another program....
isnet there a more comfortable way, for lazy ppl that dont care about the quali, like me?

Just press Ctrl+P in Virtual Dub, select XVID codec, then render to avi as usual (F7).

If avi is too big or too low quality then you can adjust the quality using the slider (Ctrl+P, then click Configure).

i rendered it as avi, but size is 600Mb...
