vista & rtcw

hi, wondering if anyone has successfully played rtcw on vista? i keep getting invalid cd key (either kicked by pb saying that, or just can't connect, with that error message on screen) on all servers. i tried to start my own server with pb enabled, and it tried to kick me (but can't), saying i have no guid. it's like it isn't assigning me a guid, like it can't connect to the AUTH server or something?

have tried administrator privileges, xp compatibility mode, tried running it with the pb services disabled but still no luck?

any ideas? :<

edit: oh yeah, i have a valid cd key since i played it fine on xp, and i bought the game :p
