The big step is moving from casual public player to clanned player. That can come before or after people join nub forums, but without it crossfire won't be remotely interesting to them.
I was in many pubclans, so i wouldent say that.
Threr are tons of clans that play pub only.
i think the importnat stpe is from pubclan to competitive/etpro-clan.
We need more ppl making that transition!
My definition of 'clans' doesn't include 'pub clans'. I was an active member of a public server community (with comms and a forum, with a server running shrubmod) for 4-5 months before some of the guys on that server decided to form a competitive clan, which I then joined.
That move was the big step - suddenly I took far more interest in things like the EuroCup, actively searched for demos of top teams and started looking for sites like crossfire. The transition from shrub to etpro was natural, since that's where we had to be to compete, joining crossfire just an extension of joining the competitive community.
All the mods combining into etpro would give ET a much bigger boost than eliminating all the cheaters. More so on the American side of things, but overall as well.

apart from the odd NQ,afew etpro priv's and about 2 pubs with it..etpub and such ..
People are ten times more friendlier.
Hackers are ten times less common.
