Question regarding Rivatuner :O

Hi everyone,

Lately I had some problems with the temperature of my GPU and I'm now trying to solve it.

I was able to increase the fan-speed via my ForceWare-drivers but the problem is that I can't save the settings so that the fan-speed decreases again after a reboot.

Now I've got the idea to handly the fan-speed stuff with Rivatuner, but since some guys got busted for using it, I'm not quite sure if I should use it aswell.

The question is if it causes any problems with PB or if it's np using it for the fan-speed control of my GPU. I don't want to change any visual settings, I just wanna use it for the speed stuff.

When I start the Setup there's an option that's called "Protect memory mapped I/O ports (may increase CPU load)" and it's recommended for playing games supported by PB... so waht does this function do? Should I really enable this?

These questions may sound a bit noobish but I just wanna make sure that everything is "legal" ;)

Maybe there are also better programms to use for controlling the fan speed of a GeForce 8800 GTS?

haha i remember when razz used it and got banned for so long :D

first time he uses and gets banned lol.

that means you could do it on a server that your oppoent doesn't have rcon for :|

is there a way to do a pb ss on a server that ain't yours?

for your information, rivatuner isn't a hack itself, it's a program with which you can optimize settings and overclock stuff ... as long as you dont remove textures and so on it's legal to use. He removed textures and a pb ss was taken so that's how they found out.
