If Van Basten didn't persist with playing average players like Maduro, Kuyt, Babel, Schaars, Landzaat etc then Holland might have a chance. If he played Seedorf, Van der Vaart, Sneijder,Ruud, Van Persie, Robben in the same team they could beat Italy or France

the greek team last EC were really firsttimers and played with a yerman-style BORING play. But if you saw them play the qualifiers, its really impressive how they changed their skill to something a lot more aggressive, like .NL was playing before Marco van Basten came along

lol at some of the predictions.
Group A: Portugal , Czech although I think Turkey could run the Czechs close. They aren't the team they were with Nedved amd Poborsky at their peak.

Group B: Germany, Croatia. If anyone actually watched Croatia, they have quality players such as Eduardo, Modric. Poland always fluff major championships.

Group C: France, Italy. Holland are a strong teams attacking wise, but defensively awful. Have they actually got a good defender??

Group D: Spain, Greece. Really hard to call, any of Russia Sweden and Greece could come second. Very even teams to be honest, I think it depends on the day. But Greece were the most impressive in qualifiying

And why laugh at England not being there? This is the European championships, you want to see the best teams in the Europe? To be honest, I think you should remove Austria and Switzerland because they are terrible, and put in England and Scotland :D Shame Gerrard Rooney Terry Rio Owen won't be on the European stage.

last world cup poland were absolutely TERRIBLE. and with no world class players, i don't see them beating Croatia, who for me, are one of the dark horses of the tournament. I wouldn't be surprised seeing Croatia going to the semis.

pls.. do u really think germany wont qualify for the next round? germany is one of the strongest teams in europe.. we already owned poland 2006 in world cup.. the match against austria will be an izi bash..croatia is the only team that will make it a lil bit harder to qualify..

maybe true.. but we´ve got strong players.. e.g.:
goalkeepers: lehman(arsenal), hildebrand(valencia)
defence: lahm(bayern munich),mertesacker(werder bremen),metzelder(real madrid)
midfield:
ballack(chelsea), schneider(bayer leverkusen), schweinsteiger(bayern munich), frings (werder bremen)
offence:
klose(bayern munich), gomez (vfb stuttgart), podolski (bayern munich), kuranyi (schalke 04)

in the qualification we had bad luck because a lot of players were
injured.. but im sure the team wont disappoint the german fans =)

so right!
i remember the groupstage in WC 2006 when italy played against australia in the last game of the group. if italy didn't get atleast 1 point from the match they were out. it was 1:0 for australia till the 90min when fabio grosso "felt" over some australian player and the ref gave penalty for italy <3
