what's the best program to "pimp" your desktop ( windows xp ), cba to google because it will gimme random spamprogs anyway

The best is to patch uxtheme.dll, with Neowin UXTheme Patcher.
No external programs to skin, no spywares, no viruses etc.

The best. ;)
After youve patched unxtheme, you can just download visual styles from DeviantArt or ThemeXP.org

uxtheme.dll to run stylexp-skins
yzdock to get an objectbar
avedesk for desktop icons
tclock for clock/startbutton modification
