what rmode is a good for a rifler?

8 imo, ppl are less big but they are fatter. and since headshots arent that important for a rifle as they are for smg, i would pick 8

isnt 8 = 1280x1024?

that's um... pretty retarded unless you have a TFT.

Just a word of advice here, do NOT use r_mode 8 on a crt.

i used it when i had a tft, now im using 6. But why shouldnt u use it one a crt?

because it's not the right aspect ratio, crt should be 1280x960, with 1280x1024 it's all stretched and out of proportion, also you will probably get higher refreshrate on 1280x960 than 1280x1024

thats why they call r_mode 8 a freak resolution. And its easier to track, its just harder to get hs, but since u dont rly need those with a rifle

Just pick the one where you feel comfortable with, you wont hit better or worse with an r_mode that a "highskilled" rifler uses.

well,

On my previous pc with CRT i used rmode6 aka 1024x768, fov 101, 71 fps lock.

Atm with 20" LCD I can't play under rmode8 aka 1280x1024, fov 101 and 125 lock, it's too ugly and runs rly slow.. :\

So everything pretty much depends on which monitor you are using.. ;)

try to get as much hz as you can get with your monitor (requires stable fps around that amount). 800x600 (mode 4) & 120hz here.
