Well, i think that he's saying " I'M SO FUCKING PROUD TO BE FINN 1!1!11241242353T AND I'LL SH00T EVERYONE WHO WILL TRY TO STEAL OUR KARJALAa? 1+1+4!"¤!"# " and so on.
we didn't really win but didn't lose either, i mean soviet union could've invaded us if they really wanted to but germany was more important to them at the time
It wasn't about Germany being more important at the time - Stalin had no interest in imperial expansion. His interest was in creating a land buffer around Soviet cities, such as St. Petersburg - which before the Winter War was very close to the Finnish border, he had no interest in conquering the rest of Finland.
Soviet leader Joseph Stalin had expected to conquer the whole country by the end of 1939, but Finnish resistance frustrated the Soviet forces, who outnumbered the Finns 4:1 in men, 200:1 in tanks and 30:1 in aircraft[4].
Finally, the Soviet forces did not accomplish their primary objective of conquest of Finland but gained only a slice of territory along Lake Ladoga. The Finns retained their sovereignty and gained considerable international goodwill.
Don't know what they teach in schools these days, but we most definately lost the war against the Soviet Union.
Despite the loss, the whole conflict can be seen as a moral victory for Finland: instead of bending over like Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, Finland decided to fight. And did extraordinarily well against overwhelming odds.
I hope you realise that those statistics say more about the Soviet Union than it does about Finland - the Red Army was in total disarray due to the Great Purge, their performance early in the Winter War is indicative of that. You are fortunate that Stalin wasn't an expansionist and was content with his initial territorial claims - as opposed to conquering Finland altogether.
Est is first in world @ geography & not shitter @ history (it's average)
