xfx,msi,club3d, wtf?

I want to buy the 8800GT but does it make any difference if you buy the MSI, XFX,club3d version? I see some price difference between these brands.

imo it are just the different factories so normally the performance is the same, but you could check google first, just in case :)
buy 8800GTS 512MB from ASUS!
Oh, I am idiot. See post below.

Probably 512 MB because it's the easiest way to recognize G92 versions: old GTS cards had either 320 or 640 MB of memory.
Parent
ofc there is difference.. not hugh but still.. if I remember right XFX 8800gt is already overclocked.. and inno3d is too.. not sure
I'm a proud owner of a Club3D 8800GT!
gl finding one...
get the one with the best warranty support..

evga for example has the best support...
Some are slightly pre-overclocked, for some you pay just for brand name, I would buy the cheapest one which are available in stock, cause most are same reference cards with different sticker, or I would go with ones with custom cooling systems as default one blows cock.
and when its broken you are fucked

All cards have/should have atleast 2 year warranty, so I don't get your point. It's not year 2000 anymore, where Sparkle MX200 broke 10x more than ASUS MX200.
Parent
but the thing is: when you got a warranty case with one manufacturer, you wait 6 months, when you get the same case with another manufacturer you wait like 3 weeks...

so... 6 months without a graphics card seems fucked right? ;)
Parent
Usually shops themselves give replacement card...even here in Latvia...
Parent
only if its within the first year...

then you need to talk to manufacturer.
Parent
Chances of something fucking up within one year is...omg, then you are royally fucked

Club3d always has it's cards slightly overclocked, with guarantee ofcourse, + the support is always really good. Also, I never had a Club3d card to fail on me, smth I hear often about MSI and Asus. XFX also seems to be really good. Kinda the same as Club3d.
Imo wait for 8800GTS 512mb G92 version, but a 8800GT is very good aswell.
XFX cards are mostly a bit overclocked just like the Club3d ones, but XFX gets better chips from nvidia (from the inner part of the waffer) and thats why they are mostly a bit higher priced.

but for preformance it shouln't realy mather which one you buy
"but XFX gets better chips from nvidia (from the inner part of the waffer)"

where did you get this info?
Parent
let's just say its a good friend from my dad working for nVidia

he always advised me to buy XFX when I bought a nVidia card, XFX pays more for those chips thats why the XFX card are mostly 10 euro higher priced. And thats why they are able to sell good stock overclocked cards which still have some overclocking potential left.

XFX is also the first one to receive test cards from nVidia.
Parent
so its prolly bullshit.
if something like that would happen, bestfriend and nvidia"house"manufacturer evga would get them
Parent
why would it be bullshit? and evga doesn't have the best preformance (mostly under XFX, Club3d, ASUS) so if someboday pays more they get more
Parent
if you have enough money i'd buy the xfx or club3d

make sure you check whether there are some real differences like the cooler
