these days they are just as good as crt, maybe even better (color and sharpness-wise)
But anyways if you know so much about it SUGGEST ONE !111
np4me
But anyway 226bw is a nice screen.
I love LCD because of those colours and I feel nice when playing ET on it. So I wouldnt hesitate and buy one if i were you :)
edit: i got L1732s

that's just a bunch of bullshit.
and u can get good res with lcd too, in case u wondered :/
and btw, look at his budget, do you really think u can get a monitor with good resolution with that budget?
mb check what he actually wrote in his journal:
and btw, it's also good for gaming actually, tbh it's the new gen

rly, your last braincell died 10 minutes ago or smth? suddenly lost the capability of reading?
no I actually haven't, but I'm mentioning now, counts as mentioned then right? ;)
btw, I wanna bet I rape 70% of all ET players with the LCD I currently play on. Seriously, this LCD/CRT bullcrap is nothing more than bullcrap. I connected my CRT(72 hz), my LCD(75 hz) and my oldtimer TV (50hz) to my pc and played ET, the only differences I noticed were: sharper, better colored, and clearer image at my LCD, my tv sucking (cud never play @ 50hz in my life ^^), but I rly didn't notice a difference btween my CRT and LCD
after month of playing ET with LCD, i connected this old CRT and tried to play, and oh my god how smooth it was, and seeing them both run clone mode makes me feel sad about everyone who says that LCD=CRT in gaming
if you want to get best performance CRT is a must (we are on gaming website if that matters, not on serious business MS Office site)
and yes, i use LCD for everything else exept games
it has lowest ghosting from all avi LCD monitors around, i am afraid even to think about how it looks on slower ones, like that piece of shit you are suggesting (acer, omg)
playing any game with sharp textures (even et @ picmip 0) looks so fucking shit :X it's like 90fps to 30fps vegas motion blur in some older fragmovies :X
It just fucking makes me mad that i've decided to buy 226bw and resigned from buing iiyama master pro 513 (geek name tbh) just because it's 3 times lighter/takes up less space :X
*only @ non panoramic resolutions
I admit, my CRT was 'faster' than my LCD (it's a 22" 2ms g2g, was rather expensive when I bought it like a year ago :P), but after a few weeks I was used to it, and even prefer it. It's much clearer for one, which in games like ET/Q3 might not be important, it fucking OWNED for playing CoD2 in. It was soooo much easier to hit hs in CoD2 on my LCD than my CRT.
Yes, CRT is probably faster, but it's almost negligible now that 2ms g2g are available everywhere. For Q3/ET yes, CRT was probably much better for me, but I so much prefer CoD2 on an WS LCD.... for one you can see more than everyone else (big advantage in CoD), and it's much clearer asfar as individual pixels are concerned, which means easier to get longrange headshots.
LCD has it's good sides but CRT is definitely better for gaming.
samsung 2032bw (2ms)
i own 2032mw, i play warsow with it and its 5ms, also cod2, et, quake at other times.. and im very good, so therefore, its good enough... k?! also it has tv included and u can use blu-ray/hd ofcourse and xbox360/ps3 etcetc... whats more its cheaper than other hdtv's from samsung because its officially classed as a monitor, not a tv.. so not many general users buy it for general use :) but it can be used as that... atleast thats what samsung told me on the phone
in other words its everything u need in one, samsung pebble range ftw :)
hmmmmmmmm
slm mama btw!
some lans try to use crts, and if you goto a BYOC... its more than likely that you wont take your LCD but instead take a CRT.
so, maybe using a LCD at home isnt so bad since where it matters, if you want to lan, you will be prepared for tft's/lcd's - i dont know, i have yet to lan ^^
all i know is i much prefer playing for fun with my lcd as the picture is so much nicer, when i play games that "matter", i would possibly prefer my CRT so i feel more comfortable in my head, but thats about it
