Want to trade for your pc?

My old pc = deal!
Parent
Nah your new one!
Parent
550 W is too small, more if you want to do SLI one day.
How much more do u suggest?
Parent
700+ special SLI (Multi GPU support)
Parent
do you see 2 graphic cards, he only has 1 card
Parent
He got a SLI motherboard open your eyes : Motherboard: MSi P6N SLI-FI Retail

Then he will surely make his config SLI soon or later.
Parent
Well indeed, planning to build another 8800gt in a year or so.
Parent
then he should have said that in his journal and indeed he needs another PSU then.

Said this becuz have seen a lot of people choosing a SLI motherboard without needing it
Parent
Well maybe i could have said so, but im not planning to buy immediatly sli.
But if i buy 750 w, will it be enough for sli also?
Parent
yes, it will be enough, but if you think you will take SLI in a year of something, you better buy now SLI PSU and mobo, so you don't have to buy another one later.

BUT

SLI is 100 % more expensive and you will ony have 40% more FPS. Most games don't even support multiGPU's. I wouldn't take SLI. Just wait till january for the newer cards and take then a high-end GPU
Parent
Well already have sli mobo, but how much is a SLI PSU then? 750 is pretty much imo:<

this one is good

and if you would take 2 graphic cards, take a bigger case with better airflow. Take the Antec P182, expensive, but a very good big case with good cooling. You will need it with those 2 cards

this mobo is good one:

Parent
get at least a 1000W PSU
i hope ur kidding right?
Parent
You will need it.
Parent
well nooby

500W is rly enough
Parent
for a dualcoresystem but not for a quadcore cpu. 2cores = 500W --> 4 cores 1000W. capisce?
Parent
image: chart_power_load
33W @ default & even 65W @ overlocked != 500W :X
Parent
Well plz comment, cus i hope its bullshit.
Parent
aaah. so for every single core system 250W is enough.
Parent
Nice system and your PSU is good enough
awww... that is pretty awesome... how much would that cost? I wish I had that much $.$... And.. I might just take a 700W PSU, But I think it might work with that, just to be safe, I'd go for a 700
Price €806
I think ill replace it for a 750 PSU, its only 8 euros more:)
that makes it 814
Parent
next you need to buy a new non-personal PC
Just ignore all the noobs who are saying that 550W isnt enough..Yes, it can be enough if PSU is good, even a good 450W PSU can run Quad,GFX in SLI and other drives...But also, some shit PSUs with 700W maybe wont be able to run that components. I would suggest you taking Corsair 450W Powersupply as it's really enough for ur system, and will be enough even if you upgrade to SLI. I would go for Samsung HDD. I dont know much about that MBO, but for Quad you need a quite good MBO, so dont skimp money for MBO..Some ASUS or Gigabyte MBO in 150€ rank should be just fine.Rest is nice.
My mobo isnt bad right? And how can a mobo be so good? Where do i have to look for?
And what if i dont buy a good mobo but i do buy a quadcore, will it bottleneck or something?
Parent
isnt good for quad either, as i said, take some asus/abit/gigabyte mbo with P35 chipset..the best would be X38 chipset, although that mbo costs a lil bit under 200€,but if u have 800euro spend 100 more for good mbo...u ll have a good start for the future CPUs... dunno where u can look for:p i dont live in nl.well, nothing much ll happen but maybe quad core wont use its full potential and it's a big overkill for bad mbo...anyway, if u buy quad core u need a good mbo too...
Parent
What about this one? http://azerty.nl/producten/product_detail/?ID=31858&GROEP_ID=89&TAB=specificaties
Its a P35 chipset and affordable. Wont it bottleneck my quad? cus whats the advantage of a more expensive mobo. Its the same chipset?
Parent
thats better, well i cant tell that much about it because i dont that much, but i have read that it's better to have a good mbo for quad... well always, mbo is the most important thing for all components since everythin is attached on it...
Parent
well ofc:/ but its way more expensive:P

http://azerty.nl/producten/product_detail/?ID=35649&GROEP_ID=89&TAB=ervaring Think Ill get this one, talked with my informatica(?) teacher about my system, and he says this one will be good:)
