Best games ?

Now that the days become darker and colder, christmas is approaching and there will be days to spend "with" the family, i am waiting more than ever for my new gfx-card (becomes worse day by day now that the RAM is here). Now there was a strange thought passing by: what the heck am I gonna play then?
Witch game would you recommend, that has a fine graphic + an enormous gamefun? Also i want to play a singleplayer game so that i have a great story and i can pause it ;o)
I wont buy ET:QW cauz it sux donkey balls
I will buy CoD4, but later (pauses needed during christmas time ;>)

Im not really in to this whole hacking scene, but I'm sure you can find some public hack on netcoders that you can use and get busted.

lolz ! i almost played all the good game's already :(

halo3, assassins creed, cod4, timeshift, hl2 orange box, nfs pro street and currently busy with Kane & Lynch but it aint super ! nice story tho.

still got conan, pgr4, tony hawk and beowulf waiting for me but that aint really super pro games.
