Not true, I got my pc, main components being;

e6600
2gb Crucial RAM
8600 GT 768ram

With a DVDRW, Motherboard 320gb 16 mb cache WD HDD etc etc

Cost me £400. All about buying the parts separately!

That pc will do you fine, you'll get 125 fps in pretty much all modern games, except crysis I guess.

oh my god. Why do you buy a 8600gt now that the 8800gt is out. it will never use 1gb of memory. 256 would be enough for that card, it's just overkill. memory doesn't make your card faster yknow.
get a 8800gt and e6750
also get a p35 chispet motherboard, like gigabyte ga-p35-ds3r / l
or MSI neo-2-fr / fir or asus p5k
