8800GTS (G92) or 8800GTX (G80)?

I'm planning on buying a new PC, but I don't know what videocard I need to buy.
Some people say that the new 8800GTS ( with the new chipset G92) outruns the old 8800GTX.
Which one should I go for?
Thnx.

buy 8800gt or new 8800gts, but gt is better
so the new 8800gt (g92) > 8800gts(g92) > 8800gtx(G80)???
Parent
no, gtx>gtsnew>gt
Parent
this is confusing, why should i go for the gts if the gtx is better... because of price vs performance?
Parent
its better by ,i dunno, 5% tops? paying 100 euros more for it makes no sense

its pretty simple (sorted by performance)

8800ULTRA super expensive
8800GTX quite expensive
8800GTS 92 ok
8800GT cheap
8800GTS expensive
Parent
so still the old gtx > the new gts but because it is useless to buy the gtx i should go for the new gts :) ?
Parent
yes!

buy something else for money you didnt spend on GTX
Parent
The new GT, simply because its better. Referring to your system.
Afaik as I can remember the new GTS was the budget version of the GTX? ut in terms of performance the GTX was only 15% better, for a price difference of 300 €, something like that...
So I would go for the GTS!
but i'm talking about the 8800gt(s) with the new chipset, not the old one... dno if that matters.

I have got the 8800 GT for 270 euros with new chipset and ready overclocked. Good thing and nVidia claims the new chipset performs better than the old.
Parent
so you advice me to go for the new 8800GTS(G92) or the 8800GT(G92) ???
Parent
i'm planning on q6600 + sli, should i still go for the gt(92) then?
Parent
Yeah. you should read Assasin his comment as well:

Quote by Assasin ye but gtx cost 600€, gt is only 300€ so its better 8800gt sli than 8800gtx

Your system will run incredibly smooth I guess = )

today i ordered 2 8800GTS g92 for 279euro each, i think you did something wrong :x
Parent
theres a newer 8800gts out now. instead of a 512 meg, its a 1 gig card. not seen any tests on it yet, but id imagine it must be real sweet....
max. 3% more performance because of the relatively small Bit-Connection (218afaik) between Chip and Ram

Haal gewoon de Ultra 2x
