ET screws up with DUALCORE?

hello.

it seems something has fucked up on my system..

every time i start et or better when i'm on the server, i got damn huge fps lags.
from 85 down to 20 and up.. in a cycling mode. almost sync. when i then decrease the
fps (down to 50-40) for awhile, all is good again. but sometimes this won't do, either.

and when i then set both cores for ET, the lags are gone.
but we all know that ET runs very sucky with both cores allowed for ET.

anyone has experienced this weird bug ??

thanks in advance

my et is set on 1 core , runns perfect no fps drops etc somehow i got HUGE fps drops on ettv server (30-60) although i have stable 125 when im playing :(
how can u set more cores for ET?
Parent
if you got a dual/quad core, normally every programms runs on 2 cores, at least for me
Parent
i have a quadcore, so how i can run programms on 4 cores?
Parent
should run by default on 4 cores otherwise ctrl + alt + del -> processes -> et.exe-> affinity/belonging & now you should be able to choose on which cores you want 2 run et but i dunno how it works for intel this is the way it works for my amd
Parent
u were right, it uses 4 cores
Parent
ET isnt build for running on dual-core
Changing it to 2 cores won't have a difference it will change back to 1 core as soon as you close task manager, try swapping it to "cpu1" as that core won't be used as much by other programs you have running.
ET can't use both cores imo.
snoop always changes the process of et to one core after he started et, because et isnt optimized for 2 cores.
if you use 2 cores, you wont notice the diference, thats why :)
et is not optimized for 2 cores, change et to 2nd core and use the 1st one for all the other shit is a good idea tbh.
Parent
thats why snoop does it :D he's a smart boy!
Parent
no doubt :) <3 snoop
Parent
i'm doing that, aswell .. just since some weeks there's the devil in it ..

i never play with 2 cores ..
Parent
my bro has the same, but only sometimes, and his ET always runs on both cores
sometimes got some weird shit with this two
what dualcore u have?

if under 2*2.0 ghz then dont be surprised...
if above, then others will help coz its rly a bug
hmm i got a amd athlong 64 x2 6000+ and the same prob since some days.. need rly help with that crap :x
hmm.. maybe the amd's have too much power or the amd dualcore optimizer is just crap..

gonna do some researches on monday
