PC upgrading

Hey,

since the last months (lol) I got problems with my pc, it's a shitty one but ok..

Current pc specs:
ASUS ATi RADEON 9600XT
TFT screen (25 ms, 19 inch) 1024x768 (76 hertz)
Intel (R) Pentium 4
CPU 3.00 Hz
Clockspeed: 3.00 GHz, 518 MB RAM
Hard disk: 100 GB (2 disks)

ET settings: r_mode 4 and cg_fov 90 (if you'd need that)
Meaning I'm playing with around 60/76 fps on the high fps maps .. radar/gold/bremen is about 30/50

Would it help if I'll switch my graphic card with this?

yeah it would help. but you should go on a real tweakers, hardware forum not on cf ;)

CPU is enough to get 100 stable on every map, new gfx would help i think.

you have seriously fucked up your comp, take a look at my pc specs (in profile). My timedemo-record in supply is 211fps.

memory 100gb? :D = hdd?
.... 7600GS is ok, but better get GT that GS is really not that good. About memory... well .... dont understand how much you have it.

If you have PCI-E on your motherboard just buy 8800GS or 8600.
For the future useing and better fps ;)

I won't buy anything, I get that gfx card for free, just need to know whether it would have a positive influence to my fps, and if i should but some RAM aswell (got 512 MB now)

If you get it for free then yes that card will do allot to your computer.
512mb is not good if you have xp. Its ok for working, but doing stuff like gamer you need 1gb or 1.5gb.

I have 1.5gb and works great ^^

smth fucked up there...just buy a new processor, i had 9600se with 3000+ athlon64 and i had 125 fps almost everywhere ...

first of all cpu, thats the most important in q3 engine ... i didnt notice that vga counts much, i could play with my 9600se on max graph and no fps difference between the lowest settings, atleast not much :|

maybe u should just format and new system

ya sure, make sure you download new motherboard drivers new GPU drivers also. More memory could make a diffrence also you could add 1GB that has more use than new graphics card. But if you can get it for free its better than your 9600. You wont get more FPS with more memory, but the games just feels more smoother.

thats true. I had amd athlon XP 2200+ with 512mb ram and 9600pro and no problems with getting 125fps except radar.
