need help with Avid

since there are some moviemakers here i hope this is also a good place to ask this here! i filmed in HDV so i have .m2t files which i cannot import in Avid. i converted the m2t files to mpg and also to .ts both were not supported for import. so i converted them to avi (uncompressed) and i also tried avi with the h264 codec. importing those types succeeded but when i play the imported movie i get a white screen and no video/sound. what could be the problem??? :<
