usb prob

Hmm having a problem with my usb ports it's not reading flash drives or my dvd burner I just get "unknown usb device"

anyone know how to fix this?

Already tried updating usb drivers..
Using different ports

Have your usb ports been able to read your flash drive and DVD burner before, or have you they never worked?

they always worked fine..not working since a format.. or shortly after a format..

So what else have you got plugged into the usb ports that are currently working fine?

just been googling they said switch off pc completely and pull out power and it should reset ill give that a try anyway.

I remember something as simple as a reboot fixed my flash drive, although I gather you have tried that already.

Leave your PC running and switch it off with the switch on the power supply (or simply unplug the cable). Probably not the most healthy method for the PC, but it worked for me a couple of times already.
