you too like my two broken mx518's
Don't know about a tutorial, but it basically involves opening the mouse up and cutting off a bit of the wire at the mouse end, as that is where the damage will be. Then with the use of a soldering iron reconnect the wire to the mouse.
i need pictures.. ideas <3?

Only done it on two diamondbacks, I wouldn't advise you to try it in all honesty considering your age. Ask your dad or something, its not too difficult.

are you sure it couldn't be my MOBO btw? coz i've got one working atm.. not gamed of moved it fully yet..

Well what exactly happens? If you keep getting the connection beep when moving it around a bit, and have to plug it back in to get it working a bit, then its a connection problem.
Parent
well dark irc would be easier minus the reply time - #team-enecutive if you would..?

Sorry to generalize but I wouldn't really trust a 14 year old with a soldering iron. Anyway, if you really want to do it then you should be able to do without pictures. You can pretty much see where the wire is connected to the mouse. Carefully remove the wire from the mouse, and cut about 8cms off the wire, although you may have to cut off more. Then take the wire and strip the insulation off it and solder on the wire to the connections you just removed them from.

Easy, to fix

Go buy a random sweex usb mouse

Open the sweex mouse steal the cable

Open your mx518 and replace the cable
easier to buy a new mouse then...
Parent
agree, but you need more money tbh
Parent
2 options possible

1) you want to play seriously -> u need money for good mouse

2) you dont want to play seriously-> u dont need money, u can buy cheap mouse

fixing your "expensive" mouse is stupid
