new monitors

going to buy a new monitor
idk if i should go for crt or lcd yet
i have around 350 euros to spent

the first one that jumped to my eyes is this one Samsung Syncmaster 226BW 22 Zoll Wide Screen TFT-Monitor DVI (3000:1, 2 ms) but idk if i already should go for a lcd cause the popular oppinions seems to be that crts are still better
did anyone buy this one and what effect did it have on your gaming?
anyone has a better option (lcd/crt dont care)?

You won't find a CRT from 2008 mate ;)

they had them in my old job!

Any iiyama is worth buying. I'd buy one if I could get one in Finland, but since I can't, I'm using Viewsonic p227f which is nice as well :)

If you have to look at it more than 2 hours a day, get a lcd with a dvi connection. Your eyes will thank you.
one of the reasons why i thought i should go for lcd
i just dont know if they are rdy for pro-gaming yet

Put crt on 100Hz or more (120/125) and u won't notice any prob with your eyes. High refresh rate is the reason why ppl prefer crts anyway
Parent
it's not just about the flickering, it's about the focus. Every edge you see on a crt is unsharp, the analog cable alone does that.
Parent
That depends totally on the quality of the CRT. I've seen crappy CRTs with that phenomenon, but my CRT got as sharp picture as my tfts..

Samsung SyncMaster 997MB works perfectly for me. (crt)
np4benq fp547
random crt
just take in mind that that screen will only have 60hz
my widescreen is 1680*1050 .; 22 inch .. but only 60 hz at that resolution

syncmaster 223BW ( 2 times now )

that samsung is the one i have , its a topper mate.

you wont be dissapointed:)
samsung 2032bw is better than the 226bw

but i recommend the 2032mw which i use, its 5ms but i play quake 3.. and its fine no input lag that i see.. and your getting TV + 1080p high definition :)

the 60hz limit with lcd's in affordable price range is annoying, but you adapt :) so dont listen to people when they say its bad... i used 60 for some time now :) having 100hz wont improve ur skill

but having 100fps instead of 60 is more likely to

hf finding
let me tell you this, they are more ready for pro gaming than CRT :)

for you, not for esports

most non-byoc tournaments use LCD. Using an lcd 24/7 for gaming over someone who uses CRT 24/7 will give you an advantage when you are using LCD for the first few times

think about it :)
but then, we wouldnt have any excuse for a suddent lack of skill offline :(
Parent
reading etc lcd>crt
gaming crt>lcd just because lcd's are to slow
ive had a few good crts in the past but atm i use the 206bw
i think its great, its better than any crt at every aspect except for the refreshrates.. 75 is just a huge difference when you're used to 125 fps & 120 hz
but it doesn't matter that much.. it's not like your skill will drop or anything.. it's just a matter of getting used to it
