i have never enjoyed playing et more since i have this laptop.
everything else feels weird.
i'll upload a screenshot of my game
edit:
here's the screenshot (for some reason my gamma is darker then normal when i take screenshots, so imagine this, but lighter :] )
it's fov 110
specs @ profile ;]
http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/fovcalc.php
I used fov 90 @ crt, which converts to fov 100.39487232 @ 1680x1050.
and btw...I have fov changer for 105 and 90, and with this calculator it gives 114 and 100 . shall i just convert 105 since i'm using it most of the time and keep 90, or convert both
1680x1050 ingame
fov 105
fov 100 (= 90 at 4:3)
weird because of 60 hz =[
and 1024*768, if i play at a widescreen res i dont hit people its fucking wierd
i'm using r_mode 6 also
and i use 1280x1024 cuz i cant see as much with widescreen resolution and it kinda feels wierd.
fov 95

that tool calculates so that you have the exact same vertical fov, eg, it's the exact same as your old resolution, just with a little more on the sides
newer games, eg cod2, do it automatically... ET doesn't however.

just check the top and bottom and youll see.
the same amount of information is shown, but with a widescreen it has a larger display-area
compare it to a fictive 1x1 resolution. the same amount of info would be shown, but it would get jammed together in a much smaller area.

just check the top and bottom and youll see.
read my post again.
what i tried to explain was:
the same stuff gets shown (it stretches) but i was talking about having a widescreen cfg and showing that on a normal screen.
it will get pressed together so a widescreen shows the same but 'bigger'
I have a Samsung 226BW.
and disproportionate image isn't that bad too, u need just to get used to it
Blame Carmack for creating the Q3 engine with horizontal fov instead of vertical fov, but it's right. You didn't win, sorry mate.

Good luck arguing against that...
OR WHAT IF I USE 120FOV!
one of the tabs should say the properties of your screen
Weird shits.
