power supply..

i've got a powe supply of 300W in my pc at the moment , but my vga actually needs a power supply of 450W. I've got on of 400W but that one came together with a case of 80€ or something, so i don't know wether i can trust this one. Cause i don't want to blow my pc.

how can i test wether its a good power supply or not, without taking the risk to blow my pc ?

a good 400W PSU is usually better than a cheap 450W one, it's about the average power it supplies and not the maximum
