how to remove it? I've got windows XP, with a vista pack so dont flame me with "dont take vista",

Download it, it's just a little program to tweak some settings, and removing recycle bin is one of them

easy way also:

type mmc at command prompt

add snap in group policy

open it and look for desktop settings

click hide recycle bin!

if you do that, you'll only get "trial progams" so after 2 weeks it's back again, im not that stupid to not use google

Right click on desktop > "aan persoonlijke instellingen aanpassen" > onder "Taken" => "Bureabladpictogrammen wijzigen", you can turn it off there

Heres a valid way of removing it m8.

Open up notepad, paiste REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\Folder\RecycleBinOnDesktop]
"RegPath"="Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Explorer\\HideDesktopIcons\\NewStartPanel"
"Text"="Show the recycle bin?"
"Type"="checkbox"
"ValueName"="{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}"
"CheckedValue"=dword:00000000
"UncheckedValue"=dword:00000001
"DefaultValue"=dword:00000001
"HKeyRoot"=dword:80000001
Save as "hidebin.reg"
Double click to add it to the registry. Then in folder options, ull have an option wether to show the bin or not. :)
