no, afaik the len stuff has to do with the hashes and in this case it isnt matching. Could be wrong though, but doesnt look like a hack to me.

If he added one single file by mistake to mp_bin or server forced him to download modified file, he would get kicked, because the hashes dont match.

The md5tool hashed 2048 bytes from the file and then kicked him for a modified mp_bin.pk3.

This happens if the file has been changed for any reason, either by himself or because of a corrupt file or a virus infection.

No hack... his mp_bin.pk3 is damaged.. Its the most important file of ET. So he has to reinstall ET!

mp_bin is updated when you run the 2.60ptch exe to add the "Mods" entry to the main menu

maybe he has just copied the .exe and not run the patch like he should have

damn do i know everything?
