... I sorta never understood which kind of ppl REALLY need it.
I've just heard that it has some advantages for graphic/videowork and so on, AND that you can use both windows and mac os on 1 computer... but besides that...
what are the real advantages/disadvantages for a regular user?

only god knows
it´s just like u gonna buy a car...u can buy a nice Seat which does anythin u want him to do...or u go and get a VW, which has almost the same hardware, but the better name...and everyone will say: Ohh, u got a VW!
Don't have one and don't want one though, too expensive :P
it would be like comparing cake to chicken
Its stylish, and has many eye pleasing effects, like the "Aladins Lamp" minimize effect.
The architecture is called PowerPC, cpus mostly made by IBM, and motorola, until recently they've started using Intel, AKA, mactel's.
A Mac provides quality, and performance, not initialy designed for gamers, but certainly heading in that path.
Also, windows vista has Aero, wich requires a service (DWM) wich uses around 22k of Memory, and requires a half decent gfx card in order to be proccessed, Mac os can run more eye pleasing features, on a simple 16mb gfx chip.
The Mac os also comes with a variety of applications, too many to list. And its fun to use, plus, theres no "home premium edition", or "business", or "ultimate" etc, theres just one version, that has everything.
Mac os 10.5 Leopard, is the latest, and its out of this world. Im sure you could find some demos on youtube.
The best thing to do, rather than pay 1k + for a mac, would b to install Mac os on your x86/i386 hardware, with a windows dual boot.
Hope it helped :)
PS: watch the "get a mac" ads. :D
nice battery runtime, nice materials used to make the notebook, low weight and nice design of course.
You install applications by drag'n'drop, you don't need drivers.. for example you plug in your printer and you start printing.. no need to install devices or something. The workflows are so easy and fast.
Nevertheless there are a few things you have to adapt when you come from a Windows world, like shortcuts etc...
