jazz and blues music

i'm interested in exploring the genre, anybody got any recommendations? anything basic is fine, i'm pretty new to it

I'd recommend listening to anything by Guru of Jazzmatazz, Riz Ortolani, Al Jarreau and of course Herbie Hancock!

Blues: Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker

Could also try some (early) Rock'n'Roll, since it originated it from Blues.
Chuck Berry, Bobby Charles, Bo Diddley

Or just listen to "The Chess Story".
