Hehe, I remember trying the same as a kid. :)

Then I noticed that the local booze shop's machine had a flaw in it's design: some foreign bottles could be recycled forever. Usually foreign bottles were trashed instantly, but the machine couldn't catch thin enough bottles. And every time the machine failed to smash my precious little moneymaker, I got paid.

Bought some candy with my 'earnings' and returned the next day, with the same bottle. Good business! :p
