2000 tdi
i used 2 months 1600 dpi now i use 400 dpi and 400 is better for me :>
400, unless u got very high sensitivity
400 because the engine can only poll as many dots as your resolution.

so if you have 1600 dpi and you move your mouse 1 inch your actual input is limited to half your vertical res and half your horizontal res..

lower, bettar
what if I use r_mode 8 ?
Parent
basically imagine that the cursor is in the centre of the screen, when you move your mouse it drags the crosshair across the screen and it resets for the next polling

if youre using 1280 x 1024 then halve each to see how many pixels from the centre to the edge and you can move up to 640 x 512 per polling of input

if youre using 2000 dpi and you move your mouse 1 inch in the time it is polled itll carry over (2000-640=) 1360 pixels of movement to the next one

hence you get accel where the crosshair moves AFTER you stopped moving your mouse cause the input is limited to the distance you can drag your cursor from the centre until it is reset to the centre of the screen

so basically in et lower dpi is always going to be a better idea, and r_mode 6 or more is a good idea too

+WARNING+ THIS IS A VERY SIMPLIFIED VERSION OF FACTS +WARNING+

Im using r_mode 3 and 400 dpi so it's bad? :<
Parent
why would you use mode 3 :DDDDDDDD
Parent
its the best resolution i have ever used :>
Parent
so you have never tried any other res :p
Parent
why u recommend bigger resolution :l
Parent
cause it will reduce effect of neg accel if you have any
Parent
hmmmm I know what you mean.Somehow I found out that on such big resolution higher DPI feels better.
I use native speed of mouse in windows ( 6/11) so I can't use 1600 dpi as it moves uber quickly on deskop.Apparently If I lower
win sens ,that will lower DPI aswell. So I sticked to 900 dpi as it doesn't cause neg accel.

Somehow high res.high DPI for me :)

400 for et
depends how many dots you like per your inch?
