ET customizing resolution

Good afternoon crossfire!

myproblem:
I would like to play with a displayrefresh of 120hz. Unfortunatly my monitor
will only do 100 at my desired resolution. (1024x768) After testing some
resolutions at my desktop I noticed that with 1088x612 I could get 140hz.
Now the only problem is, after I edited my config, that with the commands
below it doesn't seem to work and starts looking like this. >:/

mysettings:
r_mode -1 :: r_customaspect 1 :: r_customheight 612 :: r_customlength 1088

Also tried switching the length and height values but then theres still half of my desktop sticking out the bottom. I need some fucking help! THX <3 n stuff!

r_customlength must be r_customwidth imo.

r_displayRefresh "140" for setting up to 140 refreshes p/s

you mean r_customwidth not r_customlength? typo I guess in here? :P otherwise thats your problem.. if not.

you may want to try with the width and height I gave also- sometimes you can get bugs ingame if you play with res same or greater than desktop (at least, I have seen in other games) ie green blood etc and can be off putting. if you have no errors then geegee :)

Well I just had the wrong cvar, it's r_customwidth instead of
r_customlength. :>

And why is r_displayrefresh useless? You must be mixing it up with something else since it lets you use a different refresh in Et. Especially usefull when you have a 1280x768 desktop when your monitor only does 85 at that resolution WHICH hurts my eyes tbh :P

r_displayrefresh is useless because your gfx drivers set your refreshrate.

well tbh If I put r_displayrefresh 100 for example then to test and see if it's actually 100 hz you just do r_wapinterval 1 and if it doesnt show 100 fps then you know its not right :P

Well Id rather have my display resolution synchchronized with my fps and mouseHZ and have really smooth visuals and mouse movement then playing with a standard 1024 or 1280 res :P

125fps, 140 refresh and 250 mouserate = smooth and absolute stutterfree: Screenshake is so bad when you have the wrong settings :x

Cuz I could only get 100hz with r_mode 6. I could get 140 or even higher with r_mode 4 but I couldnt really see anything with it. So to start synching I needed a new res... x)

btw almost 3:1 HS on cyberlows ;S with a new sens and weird cfg, these settings rock tbh :S

had 80 kills when I looked and close to 200 hs, 20 minz later some nerd planted had 130:60 or sth with a really shit cfg and new sens. Sooo I was quite happy :D
