Freez + Pc Kill #2 [ger allowed]

I need ya help coz my every time I play ET , it suddenly freezes my whole pc after 5-10 secs :F Can't do anything except reboot :<
NEED YA HELPZ

Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.40GHz 1 GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4200

Didnt have the problem 6 months ago but when I reinstalled it , it suddenly just doesnt work :< Who ever helps me will get a Money-shot <3

EDIT: 1.everything works fine if I host myself :< My pc just crashes if I join any server hosted by firms and not by myself :P
2. I can play the game for like 5-10 sec till it crashes
3. did pb update + format c and still got the problem :<

Anyways @ question, what version of Direct X do you have?, Maybe try updating that? Also are your graphics card drviers installed correctly?

second i got the newest direct x version + my graphic card drivers are installed correctly since i can play it for a few secs :o

Hmm sounds weird to me, any overheating issues or that? Use speedfan (google) to check.

nope the problem is just if i play it online any other game ( WoW , WC3 ) or if I host offline its working fine for me :o

Check that your motherboard drivers are installed, also check in device manager control panel > system > hardware > device manager > view > show hidden devices and report if any ? or ! are within the hardware.

Na das ist mal für mich recht einfach gibt einmal die einfache Version und die etwas umfangreichere.

1. Im Bios AGP 8x Support auf disabled stellen,was ein wenig Performance kostet. http://mainboard-drivers-and-utilities.free-driver-download.com/MSI/20028/MSI-Live-Update-3-v3.67-Windows-9x-ME-NT4-2000-XP.html
Wenn man gerade dabei ist kann man auch gleich den Mainboard Treiber Updaten.

2. Oder ein Bios Update ist etwas schwierig aber mit dem Tool beim Link denke ich durch aus lösbar,brauch man sich eigentlich nur an die Anweisungen des Tools halten.

Muss klappen! Hatte selber mal das gleiche Problem..

hat nichts geholfen + in bios gibts kein agp 8x support , alle neuen treiber drauf durch das prog imma noch freeze

MSI Update erfolgreich abgeschlossen? Versuche mal nach dem Installen ob du noch manuell ein Update laufen lassen kannst..

Wenn du garnciht mehr weiter findest, schreib Thread bei www.et-scene.de da es davon schon einige Threads gibt oder benutze dort die Forensuche!

Mhhhm I guess it's your RAM or your Mainboard... had the same problem with my old PC. The Mainboard was somehow damaged and didn't want to take more than 512MB of RAM, it detected the additional RAM properly but the whole thing froze after 30 secs orso...

I advise you to check your RAM for errors with Memtest86 and furthermore to install the most recent drivers for your GFX-Card, BIOS and Mainboard ;)

Especially new BIOS drivers helped me to get rid of annoying crashes and bluescreens :)


EDIT: Mhhhm bin ich ein Depp, hätte es ja auch in Deutsch schreiben können :< :D

alles ausprobiert hat absolut kein sinn :< kann ja selbst hosten und so nur wenn ich auf server aufm internet zugreif gehts nich :< trotzdem danke ^^

jo np, dann wird's wohl mit deinem ET zusammenhängen...

Also laut deiner Aussage "Es crashed nur wenn du auf einen Server IM INTERNET zugreifst", würde ich vielleicht noch auf ne Firewall oder so tippen? :P

Falls du eine hast könnte es ja i-wie sein, dass PunkBusterA.exe oder PunkBusterB.exe keine Zugrifssberechtigungen hat :o

hab ich au schon probiert hab windows firewall und ipcop aber ipcop macht eigentlich keine probs weil den hatte ich scho früher drauf und da war nix los :<

es geht aba au net auf servern ohne pb :<
