ET Problemo!

Problem:
Some seconds after I start ET it's crashing. No bluescreen but graphical artifacts.

Sidenote:
I got one of the bestest computers you can buy atm and I recently formatted!
And I haven't the problem in other games so my gfx card/CPU is not overheating. (I can read the temperatures on the LCD screen of my G15 and they are normal)

I think it has something to do with punkbuster trying to start the services but I dno ;x

install video drivers

dont use windows stock drivers

ps: xp / vista?

did you install mobo drivers?

download cpu-z, check your mobo type, download drivers and install

Anyway, most probs in ET come from video drivers.

Exactly the same problem that I have. I guess it has something to do with PB, cause every other game runs properly for me.

5 - 10 minutes, afterwards the system is freezing and I have to reboot, it's not possible to work on the desktop anymore.

I just reinstalled nvidia drivers and afterwards I could play for ~ 30 min then it crashed again (graphical artifacts)..

do you get graphical artifacts as well or a bluescreen or ET just freezes but it still looks normal?

ET freezes and a weird sound appears for 'like 5 seconds', the screen looks normal tho.

hmm.. what are the specs of your pc?

btw I'm just running prime95 and 3DMark06 to check if sth is wrong with my hardware but it seems that it's only ET which causes the crash.. :x

Bought the system like 8 months ago, so it's not the system which is causing those weird 'bugs'

It's not only a problem we both have, afaik many others had/still have those problems as well, that's why you can exclude that some of your hardware is already broken.

Of course, sucks if your teammates have to wait all the time. It sucks even more to reboot every 5-10 minutes, that's pissing me off. :)

Your PC is new, but try to clean some of the hardware, dust could be another reason, it sometimes causes huge problems.

It's all clean and temperatures are OK even after several stress tests (gfx, ram, cpu)...

Could be firewall blocking pb or you could have pb disabled in sys config maybe?

You didnt say what other games work for you, do they run pb?
