HL2: Episode 2

I have downloaded it , installed the orange box , was playing from the start, with HL2 , then Episode 1 and now Episode 2. The graphics are updated abit even with the old settings at Episode 1 , more blood and shit.
I have 2 problems , first problem is:
When I move or go somewhere , my homie (Gordon Freeman) keeps jumping abit, can't describe it better , you move and jump (not full jump but a triple mid jump or smth) , not on every area , but on most, did anyone had this problem? :s It's like you are always running on some boxes/crates shit. Halp.
Second problem is this:
From the very start I came to some noob room when alex was talking to her niggerdad and madscientist guy, bla bla , when the madscientist is saying "OMG , it must be combine po..(portal) , the game just crashes. Every time on that word.
Do you have any suggestions how to fix this? Becouse im tired of re/downloading games with 200kb/sec :D
