tbh iv had that before with invaild keys

Why don't you just buy the game through steam? I think it's incredibly cheap.

thing is, why would it work with a key from steam? the keys which i tried should all be valid and working

You'd have to download the version from steam as well of course. You couldn't just purchuse a CD key steam, it doesn't work like that.

Ye, ctrl-alt+delete -> new task -> regedit

then you go to the rtcw folder with the regedit soft and you'll see something called: rtcw-key

im sorry you are going to have to be more specific im rly bad with that kind of stuff :D i go to the rtcw folder i see the rtcw folder and rtcwkey and then? remove it or smth? and then enter manually ? or what do you mean

and then you search for Return to castle wolfenstein and on the right box, you'll have a thing called "rtcw-key **********" just change it by there
