Connecting my laptop to a monitor !

Ok, i have a Laptop and a 22 inch widescreen monitor, which i connect to the laptop occasionally, more specificly when i want to watch a movie at home.

All of a sudden (it was working a few mniuites ago) it just stopped workign and the monitor only says "No cable connected" i've made sure all plugs are plugged in firmly... Never had this problem before..

Any ideas?
