dont listen to anyone in this journal and buy a dualcore.
a quad is useless for gaming, as NO games use 4 cores yet. and if in the future they will - it's still gonna take a few years and by that time there will be 5x better quadcores available and your current quadcore will be too shitty to play them.
if you like rendering stuff, moviemaking and shit, then get a quad.. if gaming only - dual

btw is 9550 already out??? where to buy?

ye u can get it on some places

here in holland its around 420 euro's

You can also look for Xeon X3350 ( the same as Q9450 ) or Xeon X3360 ( the same as Q9550 ) most of the times they are better quality and you can get them better than the normal ones. I got Xeon X3360.

i have a dualcore here and a quad and uuh
on my quad i can open wow 3times smooth and with 4 itll lag a bit
with my dual i can open it 2 times w/o any problems but 3 will lag too much

Lol since the internets is all about world of warcraft

A quad core is really fast for rendering etc, look for some benchmarks. The Q6600 is pretty decent, and should overclock to at least 3ghz with the right hardware. Its not much benefit over a dual core at the same clock speed for current games however.

none do atm imo, UT3 engine can but im sure it's not optimized enough to make a diffrence
crysis for example "supports" quadcore but there's 0,5fps change between dualcore and quadcore

developers have just started to use 4 cores and in a year the difference between dualcore & quadcore will be MUCH bigger

you know how computer hardware advances i'm guessing, in a year there will be a much better quadcore available that you can buy then, instead of buying the 1st gen products now.
