check the rules of registrating: under 16 not allowed.

8800gtx 768mb here and a core2duo 6850.. works fine.
Corsair CMPSU-550VX,550Watt, Retail @ 8800GT + E6850
8800GT SLI with OC'ed E6750 on Zalman 600HP...

no problems so far...
BFG GeForce 8800 GTS OC2 320MB GDDR3 with Stealth X Stream 600 watt PSU.
just got a 8800gt and my fps in ET is a lot lower than my old 850xt! But crysis and other new games rox with the gt.....
fps problem at ET? O_O
try disabling threaded optimisation
Parent
u reckon thats wat it is?? ..Ive tried all that stuff mate, but im totally lost to the prob...Ive even tried Micheals low assed dark assed config!.:<....However I get 125 stable on all maps apart from radar...used to have 333 on my old XT..fucking bizarre stuff....
Parent
how many monitors btw?
Parent
just 1...was on 2 but now just this.....
Parent
ive got 2 and there's a setting @ nvidia CP which helped me to get stable fps
it's smth like multidisplay opengl acceleration, try putting it to single "display perfomance mode"
Parent
that was a good tip...it was set to dual...gonna try it later, Ive changed some other settings too...thx m8..
Parent
task manager -> processes -> set affinity -> enable cpu1 (in addition to cpu0), worked for me, maybe also for you
Parent
the psu should be utilized by more than 50% but less than 80%.
such a system does not need more than 250W under pressure.
so u know now what piece of hardware u need.
naw no chance...8800 is hungry lil bitch, needs atleast 500 to work properly
Parent
420W should be more than enough
Parent
will work, but if u want to play games = say bb
Parent
not rly, ronner got even a better gfx-card and cpu than you + a 420W PSU...
Parent
that is ofcourse depends on the company, some are freaking shit even on 500w
Parent
8800GTX can run on a 380w Antec Earthwatts

Edit: proof

Parent
Lies, it works fine on 400
Parent
look my system in my profile
i have 8800gt and oced rest
of the system it does not
take more than 250W out of
the plug, i have such a counter
before the multiway connector.

8800gts 320mb
550W random psu
Q9450 with Enermax Liberty 620W*, working well ;]

- if you want smtn futureproofed Arkangel 850W, even if its LC :P
- if you want a good performance and silent PSU, then Corsair or Enermax i'd say
LC 550W then, 50€ isn't that much, especially not for a PSU.
Parent
do you know EZcool PSU? I have a 500W one but i seems to have troubles with that
Parent
never heard, whats wrong with?
Parent
games seems to freeze, and when they freeze sometimes my sounds driver says dvice unplugged, device plugged and ive heard that the sound onboard is one of the first to "feel" the PSU going down

what about that one? would that be cheap and good? cant see any price here tought http://corsair.com/products/vx.aspx
Parent
ofc, corsairs are pretty good and even a litlle bit more silent in comparison with Enermax. This is really weird problem, but this reconnecting doesn't sound like a PSU (atleast for me). Still dunno, use your warranty or search for a solution on google, maybe there is someone with same prob.
Parent
few didnt respond to their theards, few said its PSU related and once they switched PSU it worked and few didnt find solution yet
im in a trap :[
Parent
warranty, they will find a problem. I can't help you much more :D
Parent
you have so many problems after you got your new pc...
Parent
no, only one problem, games freeze which i cant find a solution yet
Parent
like I told you
NEVER save money on your PSU and get a cheap one, it's the most important part of your system. A cheap one can kill everything starting from the mobo to the videocard in your system :)
now you gotta spend extra money to get another one, when you coulda added 20€ to the old PSU price and gotten a good PSU
Parent
i listened and took a 500W one instead of 450W one...but my mom took so much pressure cuz she is such a cheap fuck
i dont even think its the psu's problem
Parent
500w vs 450w there's almost no diffrence, the diffrence is in build quality and manufacturer.
Parent
had 480w with overclocked e6600 & x1900xtx(it's power consumption is bigger than 8800's) and it worked nice

so 600w is more than enough for any singlegfx pc
8800gtx + 6420 , watercooled

Yes, it uses 350 watts but that doesn't mean you gotta get a 350w PSU. You'd still need a QUALITY 450w atleast. This is pretty obvious but it seemed like you were saying you needed 350w.

It comes from this website. One of the most professional french website. It only say how many energy use those pcs in full load.

I never say that you need a 350 Watts psu.

me neither, but people might intepret it that way
