help with movie making =(

Okay so I tried to make some sort of a test clip that is around 7-8 secs long. I recorded it with cl_avidemo 200 and everything. So my screenshot folder is around 21GB big. This was the first time I wondered, nevertheless I followed all the steps in hannes' tutorial. So now I'm rendering and those 7-8 secs will be about 75GB big. Waddafuck help plx =(

i'm not sure but i think the file is too big
ah well 6-7 secs and 75GB... na nothing suspicious about that
Parent
yea thats not the best compression
Parent
Why do you make a journal then.
Parent
attention whoring obviously
Parent
Then you should get b&.
Parent
75GB for 7-8 secs is normal for moviemaking , keep em' comin'.
no
did you use cl_avidemo with timescale 1 for sure? maybe you had it on 0.1 accidentally so it took like 20000 shots per second
Parent
k =(

//edit:

na there are only 5.948 screens : /
Parent
yes, don't listen to fredd , hes evil and trying to fool you
Parent
k so teach me master and i will obey you cause you are the only one who knows how to fly without wings and that stuff
Parent
Get as much as possible GB for 7-8 sec clip and you be owangeeee11
Parent
K ! will change it to 2400x1800 or something like that !11

USE TUTORIALS SECTION AT CROSSFIRE and use image.exe :)
i am using the tutorial section ( hannes tutorial :o )

Use image (#image @ QuakeNet ^^) and try using lagarith codec - superior compression comparing to HUFV ;p
in virtualdub, change the fps of the clip you want to do to 200fps.

im at work, cant remember where it is, but its in one of the options from the first few tabs at the top. default is 29.xxx so your 8 second file is becoming close to 1 minute which could account for the size.

it could also be timescale, you say you get nearly 6000 frames from an 8 second capture @ 200fps? 8x200 = 1600 @ timescale 1. so maybe recheck that.
After using virtual dub, u need to work with sony vegas and after that megui
And the size will be fine,
now this topic is here, i got a small question for someone with "brains ;<" If i do cl_avidemo 200, it takes 35mins to record 5seconds :x ( yes i use a new et with only 1 demo and 1 map ) anyone knows the problem ?
when you say record you mean capture the screenshots from et? sounds like small HD space, using a secondary HD or old PC. if none who knows. =(
Parent
i got 320gb and still 200gb free atm
Parent
what r_mode are you using?
Parent
8 , using quakyhd.cfg
Parent
makes sure timescale is 1, of course ;]

are you running anything else while capturing? musics/video/etc?
Parent
nope only my ET
Parent
also try it with r_mode 11 or 6 just to see if its an mode issue
Parent
if you mean rpm? its 7200 :/
Parent
hmm.. timescale 1? try binding timescale after cl_avidemo
Parent
its still slow, also after i caputered from ET , and open it in virutaldub its going very very slow ;/. it looks liketimescale is 0.2 or smth but it is actually running on 1 :x
Parent
its supposed to be slow in vdub

check how many screenshots you have after recording for 5 sec
Parent
k hold on, gonna take some time ;<
Parent
900 ( i used cl_avidemo 100 )
Parent
then it's your pc somehow slowing it down, dunno
try using image
Parent
if you managed to get 5secs in 6mins @ cl_avidemo 100 and it takes 35 mins @ 200 just try timescale 0.5 @ 100 and should be exactly the same.
