Drwtsn32.exe SOFTWARE GUYS LOOK HERE

Dear Crossfire users, I've a problem (:<). Sometimes when I open a folder with a video or an image file in my Explorer.exe crashes and right after that a program called Drwtsn32.exe also reports an error and crashes. This also happens _every_ time I try to search on my computer.

After googling around for about an hour and trying a couple of different solutions it seems a lot of people are having this problem and that it's possibly related to malware but that hasn't been confirmed yet. I've tried Expanding the file from my windows XP disc and I've also tried deleting and renaming the drwtsn32.exe file which is located in c:\windows\system32, but every time windows just creates a new drwtsn32.exe.

Apparently Dr. Watson is some sort of diagnostic tool for Windows but I don't really know what it does apart from creating a lot of processes on my computer and using a bunch of CPU.

I've checked the file with my antivirus-software but it doesn't show anything wrong.

Help greatly appreciated.

Hmm, i dont got it running here :D (Xp pro)
Drwtsn32 is an application debugger that reports when other programs crashes, so I doubt that replacing the exe will make a difference. ^^

Check for Drwtsn32.log, there should be more info on which program is causing the problem in there.
The log is 10mb and I've no idea what to look for.

And I just googled for drwtsn32.exe and I found a lot of posts with people who had the same problem as I did with Explorer.exe crashing when opening certain folders and then drwtsn32.exe giving another error and crashing.

blame Explorer.exe... I think the best way out of this is indeed reinstalling windows (WITH format), alternatively, try registry cleaners, uninstall any software/codecs you have related to video, maybe update your antivirus and make a fullscan?
Codecs, who thinks of that?

I just removed my XviD-codec I installed for moviemakingpurposes and so far nothing has crashed :o

I had the same problem few months ago and I fixed it by completely removing that doctor watson shit (google for info).
