That's my own experience with guitars at least, perhaps someone else here knows some awesome deal, but as far as i'm concerned you just pay for the quality.
acoustic doesn't cost as much either
I started with a 100 euro set, too... was ok in the first weeks, but it never sounded good to my ears. and compared to my new (still sucking) guitar+amp (epiphone les paul + noname 30W amp) it was SHIT, really awful when I try to play on it now. maybe those from behringer or thomann are a little better (mine was from some supermarket i think :S ).
I would suggest you to save some money and buy a better set... if you don't want to stop playing guitar after 2 weeks, that would be waste of money then ofc :)
but a very cheap amp will sound extremely ugly, especially in overdrive channel.. more noise than anything else.
however, you might actually be satisfied with such a sound in the first weeks, but if you really keep on playing guitar I am sure you want to and will have to buy a new guitar + amp very soon. So you'll pay twice.
No job no money no expensive guitars
Epiphone / Ibanez aren't the most comfortable guitars when going cheap, at least, that's my experience.
Cheap solution to amps = TonePort GX! Needs some quality speakers though.. I use a POD X3 (nearly same sound quality as TonePort) -> Logitech 60 watt 5.1 + ESP LTD EC-1000 guitar
I play various sorts of styles, but my definition of great sound is John Petrucci...
I can record something or play something live (via msn, xfire, skype?) to show these features if you're interested.
But ya, it would own..
I'm planning on getting it from the US, the dollar is ridiculously low these days^^
But sure, I'd like to hear some tunes. I promise to say that you own afterwards.
Getting a cheap electric to sound good is a pain in the ass, which ends up with you being frustrated because everything you play sounds bad, and in the end you quit.
And for learning you don't need it. Buy an acoustic and use it for learning.
GL!
Gz on lessons ;)
+ acoustic = chickmagnet, AND you'll be able to practice a lot more, as I pointed out in the previous thread.
So if you DO decide to ditch acoustic afterall (which I don't recommend) consider this one.
Epiphone SG/LP Special II (or equivalent in price class (175/200-ish euro) from Ibanez) + Toneport = total 250-ish euro.
BUT BUY AN ACOUSTIC
Personally though.. No Les Paul = No guitar for me :P
