Cycling

Are there people here that are cycling a lot (and with that I dont mean 10km to work each day but cycling on a sportcyclething)
If you do is it on a regular(?) base? Like twice a week... twice a month... and how far do you cycle?

I did 200 km once, 4 times 150 km and 100 km twice. All was part of the amateur version of the Amstel Gold Race.
Besides those official events, I trained about 100 km several times. But mostly I ride only 60-80 km to train.
and whats the time u need for the 60/80km?
Im driving around ~25km and takes like 40 mins... (not sure about both but just kind of a wild guess) gonn get a thing to check my speed.

it depends on the course I choose. I live in the south of the Netherlands, so the more Amstel Gold Race hills I take, the slower I go. Normally I do 22/23 km/h at the start of a season. When I'm trained better, I ride like 25-28 km/h. I simulated a time-trial on a 60 km course a couple of times. My best average was 32 km/h.

you sound like a pro ;D how long have u been doing this? I can notice my legs can handle more each day when im cycling 4 times a week.

The last two years I haven't been cycling much, due to some physical issues. But before that, I did about 3000 km a year for about 10 years in a row. I only went when the weather was reasonable though, so mostly from march till november or even less.
You have to setup your training carefully, sometimes a bit more intense and shorter, some other times longer and slower. And you have to listen to your body carefully, overtraining happens fast. You have to take your days to rest, especially if you are used to train hard.

didnt sport for 5 years:p I like to put my "versnelling" on max when driving up a way thats going up and just check how far i can go :p

well, you need to pick your "gear" carefully. By riding up most hills several times, I learned which "gear" to pick. You have to find one that fits your style. For me it was relatively heavy for steep climbes and light for long climbes.

it's been done before!
