ronner, ooooooooh great great ronner! show him the right path!
do you still love me tho? :<
Ballack was man of the match and he'd deserve this award
Ballack was the strongest - no doubt
Thankfully though, no one will be 'blamed' for the loss, no player was at fault etcetc. Drogba being sent off didnt change the game as it was so late. And Terry's miss was just unlucky - as was Ronaldo's (if they lost).
great game, first Ive watched all the way through for a long time ;)
Don't agree with the sending off not changing anything tbh. Terry is a defender and only took a penalty because Drogba was off the pitch becuase as the main striker he would have taken one of the first five no doubt.
But like I said it happens all the time.
Man Utd had the best chances of the game, could have easily gone 3-0 up by halftime. Chelsea got fortunate but took a half chance to equalise.
Chelseas second half chances were not as clear cut, long shots and fumbling around the box - They hit the woodwork a few times yes but I dont think they were 'dominating the game' It was a game on a knife edge, that didnt tilt. its a shame pens are the only way to settle it, its a cruel end to what was a fabulous game to watch.
Man U were the better team for 30mins like I said. They had good chances idd but not as good as the Chelsea ones. Only one you could say was Giggs' chance compared to drogbas, lampards and then coles follow up (which he skyed).
You can say Chelsea got fortunate but they were pushing for the goal putting Man U under pressure. A bit of luck is needed just like the luck of not having a penalty giving against you when you nearly take someones head off with your boot.
As the game went on Chelsea passing and creativity was better than utds, they cut through them much more than the other way around.
tbh I'd rather a shoot-out decide it than carry on playing and watch the player run themselves into the ground, the final few mintures showed how knackered they were.
I would say in the 90, each 'dominated' 30 mins of the game, and the other 30 was just slowed play. You are obviously a Chelsea fan, so Im not going to rub it in, but the chances were there for united to go 3-0 up (best chances of the game) And the very late shot from Giggs that Terry blocked with his head.
The goal itself was on good chance, poor marking from essien. The long ball from rooney, crossed by Ronaldo to Tevez with a awesome save from Cech and to get the follow up too from Carrick. and the across the 6yard box pass from rooney that Tevez only just missed. Celseas chances, like I said, were not as clear cut. Long shot from Drogba hitting the post and the madness in the box with Lampard hitting the bar (not a clear chance, well played to nearly score).
The pitch was bad, it was raining badly in the second half and I think that didnt help with the cramp, a lot of players were pulling up within the 90 minutes. I think Rio pulled up after around 60.
Was a good showing of the English game, and English players who all had good or amazing games (Ferdinand and Terry were Terrific).
Chelsea fans will say they dominated, Man Utd fans say they will. 99% of neutrals will say what actually happened. It was a Stormer and amazingly tight.
As long as Liverpool didn't win it I wasn't bothered who lited the trophey.
Think we'll have to agree to disagree on this one :D
but the BBC avram grant response was classic "I think we dominated early in the game" I think we both agree thats not true ! :P
