After running a few test with 3DMark06 I got a total of 10306 3dmarks
Isn't this kinda strange..? I expected to get a lot more. Especially with a Q6600.
-Got nothing OC'd
-Stock coolers
-Couple of months old..
Any causes / bottlenecks you can think of? Any _cheap_ upgrades that can boost my system a bit?
Specs:
Antec Nine Hundred
Gigabyte P35-DS3R motherboard
OCZ StealthXstream 600W PSU
INTEL Core 2 Quad Q6600 8MB Cache @ 2.4 GHz (Stock cooler)
Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 500 GB (7200 RPM - SATA II - 32MB Cache)
Compaq FS740 - 17 inch CRT (1024*768 @ 85 Hz)
Realtek HD Audio - OnBoard
ATI Sapphire HD3850 512 MB DDR3 PCI-Express
GEIL 2GB DDR2 (2x1024MB) PC6400 800Mhz - Timings 4-4-4-12 - Dual Channel
Windows XP Professional Service Pack
Don't compare your score to the highest scores on 3dmark06, they are using crossfire (2xhd3850) and highly overclocked quadcores to achieve the scores, but 3dmark doesn't show the exact number of gfx cards or cpu clock. 10k is fine for q6600+hd3850 without any overclock imo
although hd 3850 should cost about 100€ less than 8800gt
im talking about when you compare scores with other people with same cards, 3dmark06 will show you the scores from dual hd3850 users also, but it only shows that they use one hd3850. a lot of people get confused by that and think their score sucks.
edit: wow, that's pretty bad since 3dmark06 is optimized for quad core cpu's (that's the reason why only quad core cpu's are @ the top) and I got a higher result with a dual core cpu

buy one more card for CF, else its too weak
anyways, SLI / CF doesn't guarantee you lag, ofcourse there can be some problems, but they can be fixed, etc.
does this mean that CF / Sli (they didnt even test SLI) has 100% guaranteed lag in all games?
one would think there would be people raging about it if it was indeed like that.
this is the only source i've seen saying that CF causes lag.
there can be some problems with multi-gpu solutions in certain games, but nothing that can't be fixed.
edit: prove me wrong :)
now link me to some trusted websites that say 'sli and cf means guaranteed lag in all games'
you still didn't say why you're bashing SLI when they only "tested" CF
edit: all Multi-GPU systems are affected with the micro lagging problem
why?
