r_depthbits question

I saw that CB cfg and WL cfg set this setting between 24 and 32.

But is here someone who can give me some decent info about what the difference is between the 24 and 32 cause i don't see a thing difference when i test both of them.

Already big thnx to the ppl helping me out on this little search.

greetz,
BrCh

*Edit
If anyone can give nice commands or stuff for very detailed cfg let me know.
Also can you give me some info about r_lodScale.

Well , 16 is buggy as you can see through walls and stuff

24 is normal , 32 is abnormal and not supported
you can still set 16 in drivers

moepmoep i has paly ET
You'll only see a difference at long distance, and only if two objects are really close in the Z plane.

AFAIK the cvar is only a 'recommendation' to the GFX card, so you can get a 16 bit depth buffer with r_depthbits 32 if that's all the card supports (it may also be possible to disable in the driver).
