Organising a small LAN

Journals
A few friends of mine and myself are willing to make a week-end LAN , just for fun.
We all live in the same country, which makes it quite easier for meetings etc.
Of course we'll play ET but I'm also wondering; For example, if we want to play CS:S or CS 1.6 :
I have it on my Steam acc, do I need a different Steam acc for every computer @ the LAN ?
Will it work with only one Steam acc if the comps are set in LAN settings?
(CS + Steam was just an example, but how about other paying games ? Do they work the same way?)
Also any tip you could give me about organising this LAN?
Anything I should do or shouldn't?
PS : We'll play CS:S , ET , Worms world party (:D) , and probably Quakelikes (Any suggestion for any kind of fun LAN game is welcome, but I'm reading the journal just under this one and I got a few ideas so far)
We might include MMORPG's but not sure everyone actually likes it, so we might just not :(
Cheers
