hi2 all the vista haters ;)
i've tested et under vista and it seemed like "omagosh - 20-30 fps"
so i read some journals - and nothing rly helped
my pc isn't bad and drivers are all up to date...
so the easy solution is - changing your graphiccard settings:
i only can give u two pics about nvidia settings ( and sry that they are only in yerman :P ) :

so i hope i helped some of you with that - and gave the haters another possibility to write some "helpful" comments ;)
i have stable 125 fps on nearly every map with a geforce 7600 (not the best card, but almost 125-with com_maxfps 125...)

(i can't promise that this will help you, because the effect is surely caused by the hardware u use, the fps/problems u have and the OS...but it helped me :P)

as far as i can remember i never had fps lags @ xp , so i only tested it with vista

like i already said : i read (even that bout threaded optim.) , but it didn't help
i just made a normal screen out of a black screen when starting et :S
and no problems
but i almost prefere performance instead of quality...
but thx anyway

OPEN TASKMANAGER, RIGHT CLICK ET.EXE (MAKE SURE UR IN ADMINISTRATOR MODE) PRESS "SET AFFINITY" SET IT TO USE 1 CPU, INSTEAD OF 2, AND THERE YOU GO, UBER FPS.
ET runs like shit with 2 cpu's.
I get 30 fps without doing this, if I do it, I get smooootth shite
INSTALL PROPERLY AND PLAY
2,0 ghz dual core
2 gb ddr2
nvidia geforce 8400m
o rly, and 30 fps without changing settings?! Oh sh- my laptop is total crap.... [/sarcasm] When I change affinity I get 200+ fps
means you did something wrong
