This guy knows his shit. You basically pay premium for a premium job, DIY and you know what you get. Of course then you need to pay attention to cable runs and making the inside tidy, but that's all up to the builder then.
Yes they are assembled by them, but nothing I have read suggests that they do anything different than a DIY builder would do. The individual parts are no different to those available from a component retailer.
The cases are funky but I'd take a nice Lian Li over an Alienware anyday.
I am not saying they are bad PC's, they are just horrendously overpriced.

But in my opinion: choose your hardware by your own.
whats so gaming about alienware? just overpriced PC nothing more, the only extra's you get are the nice looking case and the ugly alienware XP theme (which you can download at 10001 sites).
Just pic a random alienware PC and select teh same hardware on a random webshop and see the price differance. Then you'll decide to never buy anything which says alienware.
Since DELL bought this company some time ago you could already expect that they would use alienware to attract gamers and build even more overpriced pieces of shit since these cases have a "gamish" look.
You'll be A_LOT better of if you build your own PC since you can perfectly decide what you need it for. You'd be one of the many retards who actually spend their money on companies like this who are actually nothing more than a bunch of thieves. My conclusion, building your own PC has nothing but advantages.

I don't own one, but in my opinion you are paying for the brandname. You could build yourself a similar spec desktop and save quite a bit of cash.
