Favorite Game Soundtracks

Just read a similar post on ESR and it got me thinking;

A few of mine, and some reasons;

Rez (i still play this on my dreamcast)
Deus Ex (cyberpunk<3)
Uplink (cyberpunk<3 - it's insane how the music fits here, not a huge game, not a big name developer, just a very well executed soundtrack)
System Shock (cyberpunk<3)
Monkey Island
Zelda: OoT
Pokemon
Sonic Adventure
Super Mario Bros

Maybe more when I get bored.

I would've said Halo but then I would sound like a 13 year old boy, although, I was a 13 year old boy when I played Halo which would justify it a bit.

In terms of "proper" music...
MechCommander (Duane Decker)
Anything with music composed by Frank Klepacki (all Westwood games, with Red Alert in first place)
Most stuff with music composed by Jeremy Soule (Oblivion, Total Annihilation, Neverwinter Nights, Supreme Commander)
Heroes of Might & Magic III (Rob King/Paul Romero)

For 8-bit music, I was seriously impressed by Zelda's music, back in the day. Pokemon and Mario weren't bad either.

Yeah, there was a 3rd/1st person shooter for the PSX. Was released around '97. Was pretty decent and the soundtrack was ace: Takkyu Ishino, Westbam, Mijk van Dijk, ...

They even sold the soundtrack separately.

Also Zelda, Chrono Trigger and all of those great snes games have great soundtrack
